Dutchman's Pizza Faq's

Built in 1982 and originally name Pizza Cove the name was
changed in 1985 to remember a lost friend to the owner at that
time to Dutchman's Pizza. Many improvements have occurred
over the years but our main objective is still our daily routine.

Our commitment to the highest quality foods and service at the
lowest possible price and our commit to support Gilroy Sports,
Schools, and Families has not changed.

Owned by Gilroy residence Jim and Marisa Shuster; the
commitment has never been at its highest level. Between 2006
and 2008 Dutchman's Pizza has donated cash and food totaling
more than $120,000 to Sports, Schools, Families, and the needy.

If there is a need to raise money for a cause you can always find
Dutchman's Pizza at the top of the list. Over the last couple of
years we have hosted 18 Fund raisers to support causes from
lost loved ones to raising money for the needy during Christmas
and cancer research and for those inflicted.


In 2006 Dutchman's sold 31,000 pounds of pizza dough and
6,100 pounds of cheese serving over 23,000 Large Pizzas

In 2007 Dutchman's Pizza increase this to 37,000 pounds of
pizza dough and 7,250 pounds of cheese serving over 27,000
large Pizzas.

In 2008 Dutchman's Pizza increase this to 39,000 pounds of
pizza dough and 7,700 pounds of cheese serving over 28,400
large Pizzas.

But just how much dough is this?
If you made one pizza with all the pizzas sold in 2007 it would be
a 10 acre pizza or Larger than San Ysidro Park:
7700 Murray Avenue, east side of Gilroy.

With our customers buying about 2 pizzas a week we sold our
pizzas to over 1,000 families in and around the city of Gilroy.

What is the number one selling pizza?
46% of all Dutchman's Pizzas are covered with pepperoni. The
favorite topping in the US is also pepperoni but only 36% of them.

According to a recent Gallop Poll, children between the ages of
3 and 11 prefer PIZZA over all other food groups for lunch and
dinner.

A study done by a U.S. Department of Agriculture statistician and
home economist found that in a three-day survey period, 42% of
children between the ages of 6 and 11 had eaten pizza.

94% of the population of the U.S. eats pizza.

Favorite Pizza Toppings in the United States
Pepperoni is by far America's favorite topping, (36% of all pizza
orders). Approximately 300 Million pounds of pepperoni are
consumed on pizzas annually. Other popular pizza toppings are
mushrooms, extra cheese, sausage, green pepper and onions.

Gourmet toppings are gaining ground in some areas of the
country such as chicken, oysters, crayfish, dandelions, sprouts,
eggplant, Cajun shrimp, artichoke hearts and tuna.

62% of Americans prefer meat toppings on their pizza, while 38%
prefer vegetarian toppings.

Women are twice as likely as men to order vegetarian toppings
on their pizza.
